A Message from Our Founder

Growing up in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, I was lucky enough to have hundreds of miles of trails for riding mountain bikes, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, dune buggies, and eventually trucks. My first vehicle, a full-sized Chevy ½ ton with a 305HP engine, was a delight to drive with its 6” Rancho Suspension lift and a melody of an exhaust. I’ve always prioritized safety, so with seat belts fastened, that truck took me on some unforgettable adventures off the beaten path.

My academic journey took me from various colleges in the US to Australia after a summer abroad enchanted me. I settled at Bond University in Queensland, graduating in 1999 with a double degree in International Relations and Communications. Returning to Massachusetts with no sales experience, I dived into the deep end with a job selling long-distance phone services, which toughened me up for a career shift into pharmaceutical sales.

After five years in pharmaceuticals and earning an MBA in Australia, I returned to the US and seized an opportunity with Paradox Marine. I started as a commission-only salesman and eventually took full control, rebranding the company as GOST – Global Ocean Security Technologies. Our systems, built to last decades in harsh maritime environments, are a testament to our commitment to innovation and quality, supported by feedback from a vast network of users including the US Coast Guard and Navy.

The success and robustness of our maritime products inspired our entry into the Overland market. Since 2012, we’ve been equipping expedition trucks with high-level security systems. At the upcoming Overland Expo West 2023, I am excited to launch GOST Overlanding and showcase our new technologies designed for the unique challenges of overlanding. I look forward to reconnecting with old friends from EarthRoamer and 27 North, and to making new connections in this vibrant community, continuing to enhance and protect their incredible vehicles.
